Case Study : Small Footprint, Big Difference
Aiding in Parts Washing at a Metal Machining Facility
CDF Industries was contacted by a customer to assist them in solving a problem in their parts washing department in their manufacturing facility. The problem was that the existing washer was very old, small, inefficient and unable to meet the current production requirements. However, floor space was limited to acommodate any new equipment.
The first step CDF Industries took was to perform a thorough evaluation of the available floor space, the parts that were to be cleaned, contaminants (oils) being removed, and desired cycle time. After conversing with company personnel on-site, we developed a vertical door washer to meet our clients foot print constraints, and clean specifications, etc.
Shortly after this the customer's existing unit stopped working completely, forcing the client to move the parts cleaning work to another degreasing area. This created a huge backlog in the overall production process. CDF Industries sped up fabrication on the new unit to aid the customer as soon as possible. Upon approval of the design, CDF Industries started to immediately fabricate the new washer. We also offered the use of one of our used machines until the new washer was completed.
The unit was completed in a timely fashion and the full installation process began. CDF Industries delivered and installed the machine along with the start-up. Using our cleaning chemistry, the new machine has met the customer's expectations and keeps up with the full production demand today.
The bottom line: CDF Industries aided our customer meet and exceed their parts washing production rates.
This customer was so pleased by the machine, they have decided to replace an old washer in the plant with another CDF Industries' vertical door washer.
